At Studio Minosa, we believe that interior design should reflect the essence of the people who inhabit a space—effortlessly balancing sophistication with playfulness, while allowing for adaptability and connectivity. The Cremorne Waterfront Residence beautifully embodies this philosophy, offering a home that celebrates both refined elegance and the lively energy of family life, with a design that will evolve as its residents do.
From the very beginning, the clients expressed a desire for a home that felt both sophisticated and fun—a space that would not only embody their personal style but also create an environment where they could enjoy both quiet moments and active, joyful interactions. The design strikes this balance beautifully, offering spaces that feel inviting and relaxed, yet effortlessly stylish.
Flexibility was key. The home was designed to adapt as the family’s needs change. In the years to come, as the children grow, the home will seamlessly transition into a more multi-generational space. The layout is fluid, with carefully considered zones for togetherness and areas that provide privacy when needed. Secret doors and hidden storage were incorporated to maintain a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, while clever reconfigurable elements, like retractable walls and adaptable spaces, allow for ongoing flexibility.
The home’s open-plan living areas are designed to foster connection, encouraging the family to spend time together, whether cooking, dining, or simply relaxing. Yet, the design also offers spaces to retreat. The top floor, a future master retreat, exemplifies this adaptability, offering serenity now and transforming into a private sanctuary when the family matures. Each room is intentionally crafted to facilitate moments of shared experience, yet remains flexible enough to evolve as the children get older, ensuring the home grows with them.
The heart of the home, the summer level, was conceived as a space for fun and relaxation—filled with a games room, foosball table, and a kitchenette to entertain, ensuring there’s always room for laughter and play. It's a playful contrast to the serene levels above, where the family can unwind or come together in shared moments of joy.
Technology also plays a subtle yet crucial role in enhancing the home’s adaptability. Integrated systems allow for effortless control of lighting, temperature, and privacy, ensuring that every room serves its function with ease, no matter the time of day or the need. These discreet innovations contribute to the home’s liveability, giving the family a space that’s not just beautiful but also intuitive.
